Hi Chris.
I just read Divine Comedy. Very nice. I really liked it. I love the 
quality of the first person narrative, and the way you establish that he 
thinks there is something wrong with him and genuinely wants to be like 
normal people. The story flows beautifully. The tree he gets up is a 
great tree, and then you throw excellent rocks at him and get him down 
again. The revelation at the end was great, but in a way a lot of it is 
clear by that time anyway. I wonder if there's isn't a way to give the 
reader a little more credit for figuring out what the reader can figure 
out, and only make explicit the rest. It's not a big deal anyway, it's 
just the only mild criticism I had. Very nice story. That's one in the 
eye for them goddam Sade-ists. I was particularly impressed with the 
elaborate care you have taken to provide a platform for some of the 
oldest jokes ever told.
