You got me. I can't possibly be a serious writer if I ever read stuff by 
anybody who isn't in the list of other serious writers and also I get 
paid for it. Now, where is that list, how do I get on it, and what's a 
fair price?
There are many good points in that story though. It is impossible to 
provide useful criticism. So why read anybody's stuff at all? And trying 
to get anything published is a little discouraging. You can't give up.
The general tone of the piece is deeply unpleasant, but it's funny in 
its way. You'd be crazy to believe what it says about how you decide if 
you're a writer or not. What, I fail one of your fucking dick tests, and 
I'm not a writer? Fuck you, dick! Which I suppose is what that fucking 
dick Josh is saying.
